Merck Curiosity Cube
The Merck Curiosity Cube has visited Lockyers, travelling from Germany to visit schools throughout the UK.
The children at Lockyer's were delighted to welcome back the volunteer team from Merck, a life sciences company, with their mobile laboratory - the Curiosity Cube. Students in Years 5 - 7 enjoyed a session in the lab learning about sustainable fashion by conducting 3 exciting experiments. Everyone got involved by looking closely at fabrics using a microscope, creating a wind turbine to power a factory and taking home a reminder of the day by making a recycled yarn bracelet. The colourful Cube travels all over Europe to engage children with hands-on experiments and the children were excited to see it back in our car park. The children loved the chance to engage with 'real life' scientists and learn more about STEM careers.
